We offer programs for children ranging from infant to school age. If you have any questions about these programs, please feel free to get in touch.
Infant Program
We begin accepting infants as early as 6 weeks of age. Our nursery teachers provide warm, nurturing care for the infant babies. We follow the schedule specific to each child, and work with the parents to transition as the child grows. Older infants may participate in the Baby Signing Time and My Baby Can Read programs which encourages early forms of communication with baby’s peers! Parents must provide bottles, food, diapers, wipes, changes of clothes, etc.
Toddler 1's
Our one-year-old class continues the Baby Signing Time and Your Baby Can Read programs, and participates in circle time daily incorporating flashcards, books, and songs to aide in recognition of shapes, colors, animals, and other objects. Our one-year-old teachers encourage communication between all peers.
Toddler 2's
Two-year-old students at Mini Me Learning Academy follow a curriculum to further learn the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and objects. The children are given time throughout the day to use their imagination and encourage creativity as well as develop greater communication skills through centers such as housekeeping, library, blocks, cars, puzzles, manipulatives, etc.
Pre-K2
Our pre-k2 classroom picks up where the toddler classrooms leave off. Placement in the preschool classrooms may depend on age, maturity level, and socialization skills. The children participate in a structured curriculum introducing letter names with sounds, reviewing numbers, shapes, colors and days of the week daily, as well as following the various thematic units scheduled each week.
Pre-K3
The pre-k3 students dig deeper into the world of learning. They participate in circle time every day learning the alphabet names and sounds, numbers, shapes, colors, days of the week, etc. The class integrates music, songs and movement with learning and preparing for pre-k4, as well as introduction to computer technology. Our pre-k3 program participates in pre-writing activities and worksheets. Thematic units are incorporated into the weekly lesson plans to make learning fun!
Pre-K4
Our pre-k4 class at Mini Me Learning Academy follows a blended curriculum focusing on multiple avenues to prepare our children for kindergarten. The class participates in a daily schedule beginning with ‘circle time’ style class time, learning the alphabet names and sounds, numbers and shapes, rhyming, grammar as well as pre-writing and writing practice worksheets. Computer time is utilized for creative learning. We have combined Montessori and other teaching methods which help to keep the children excited to learn! We also participate in practice testing and familiarity of the DIBELS test so that students are prepared and comfortable when testing for kindergarten. We require all students to arrive before 9:00 every morning to fully participate in the lessons. This forms a routine for the children and adjustments to such routines may sometimes hinder the learning process.
Before/After Care Program
We offer before/after care for school-aged children of siblings enrolled at our Maurice location. We have transportation with Cecil Picard Elementary, Moe Elementary, Vermillion Charter, and Indian Bayou. We provide age-appropriate options that align with our preschool curriculum for our afterschool program.
Holiday Program
We offer holiday care for school-aged children of siblings enrolled. We provide age-appropriate options that align with our preschool curriculum for these holiday days. Schedules must be confirmed and approved at the start of the school year and tuition is paid up front. We cannot accept ‘drop-in’ children.
Summer Program
This program is offered to children 2 and older, with limited spaces available. There will be no field trips. Instead, vendors are brought into the center for entertainment. These may include the Petting Zoo, Weekly Ice Cream Truck, Teddy Bear Mobile, etc. Other activities are built around the weekly theme and may include face painting, arts and crafts, splash days and fun jump days.
